Founded in 1966, K-Swiss was the brain-child of two Swiss brothers, Art and Earnest Brunner, who emigrated to California in 1966 and started their footwear business. Both brothers were passionate skiers and tennis players and decided that they would design a sports trainer that would address the specific needs of tennis players. Fifty plus years on from those early days, K.Swiss trainers are as at home on the street as they are on the tennis court. The K-Swiss brand has become universally known despite an early policy of not advertising K-Swiss and, remarkably, it was not until the 1990's that K-Swiss made their first TV commercial. The growth of the K-Swiss brand had been via reputation and skilled K-Swiss product placement.
